Job summary

Harford County Government is seeking a Grants Specialist I to oversee and coordinate grant submissions across multiple agencies. You will manage the grant lifecycle, ensure regulatory compliance, and prepare financial and narrative reports for Federal, State, and local programs.

The role requires an Associate's or Bachelor's degree with relevant experience and will involve auditing support and collaboration with stakeholders across public health and social services.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Business Administration or related field plus 3-4 years of related experience; OR Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field plus 1-2 years of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain contact with agency, County, State or Federal personnel to execute grant submissions.
• Keep abreast of State, Federal and local regulations relating to grants.
• Maintain database of grants submitted and received; monitor progress of grants.
• Prepare grant applications and collaborate with other agencies as required.
• Prepare paperwork, reports, and correspondence for each grant.
• Maintain detailed records of grant performance and financial disbursements.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual reports as requested.
• Manage cash flow records and coordinate with budget staff on grant expenditures.
• Participate in local, State, and Federal audits as needed.

Job Description Summary:The Grants Specialist I is responsible for overseeing, facilitating and coordinating the activities of various County agencies, developers and the public in the submittal, review, and approval of Federal, State and local grants. This position may also negotiate and administer grants, prepare budgets and design instruments for use in data gathering. This position also works with a variety of stakeholders, including the public, health and social service agencies in support of programs. Harford County Government Core Values are essential to successful job performance and this position, as with all positions at Harford County, is accountable for integrating Core Values in the execution of responsibilities.Job Description:**Budgeted Salary: $40,000.00 - $50,000.00** **Essential Duties:*** Maintains contact with agency, County, State or Federal personnel to execute grant submissions* Keeps abreast of all State, Federal and local regulations relating to grants;* Maintains database of grants submitted and received* Monitors or assists in monitoring the progress of each grant* Prepares or assists in the preparation of grant applications for programs, collaborates with other agencies in coordinating grants, as required* Prepares paperwork, reports, presentations, and correspondence as necessary for each grant* Maintains detailed records of grant performance and financial disbursements for each grant* Prepares monthly, quarterly, and annual reports as requested* Studies information received from the Grants Coordinator and other sources regarding the types of State and Federal grants that are available* Keeps records of cash flow for each grant and will coordinate with budget staff to monitor the timely expenditure of all grants* Actively participate in local, State, and Federal audits as needed **Education and Years of Experience:** Associate's Degree in Business Administration or in a related field*AND*3-4 years of related experience OR Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business Administration or in a related field *AND*1-2 years of related experience**Certifications, Licensures, and Examination**s:Possession of a valid Class \"C\" non-commercial driver's license with no more than three (3) points.
