Job Description Summary:The Grants Specialist I is responsible for overseeing, facilitating and coordinating the activities of various County agencies, developers and the public in the submittal, review, and approval of Federal, State and local grants. This position may also negotiate and administer grants, prepare budgets and design instruments for use in data gathering. This position also works with a variety of stakeholders, including the public, health and social service agencies in support of programs. Harford County Government Core Values are essential to successful job performance and this position, as with all positions at Harford County, is accountable for integrating Core Values in the execution of responsibilities.Job Description:Budgeted Salary: $40,000.00 - $50,000.00Essential Duties:Maintains contact with agency, County, State or Federal personnel to execute grant submissionsKeeps abreast of all State, Federal and local regulations relating to grants;Maintains database of grants submitted and receivedMonitors or assists in monitoring the progress of each grantPrepares or assists in the preparation of grant applications for programs, collaborates with other agencies in coordinating grants, as requiredPrepares paperwork, reports, presentations, and correspondence as necessary for each grantMaintains detailed records of grant performance and financial disbursements for each grantPrepares monthly, quarterly, and annual reports as requestedStudies information received from the Grants Coordinator and other sources regarding the types of State and Federal grants that are availableKeeps records of cash flow for each grant and will coordinate with budget staff to monitor the timely expenditure of all grantsActively participate in local, State, and Federal audits as neededEducation and Years of Experience:Associate's Degree in Business Administration or in a related fieldAND3-4 years of related experienceORBachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business Administration or in a related field AND1-2 years of related experienceCertifications, Licensures, and Examinations:Possession of a valid Class \"C\" non-commercial driver's license with no more than three (3) points.
