The University of Maryland, College Park's A. James Clark School of Engineering seeks a Research and Proposal Development Manager to collaborate with faculty to pursue extramural funding.

You will lead capture management, coordinate across departments for large interdisciplinary proposals, develop timelines, manage budgets and biosketches, and deliver proposal writing workshops to advance research funding. This role also supports early career investigators and aligns with university guidelines.

Competenze

• Minimum of three years of experience writing and managing proposals (RFPs, RFQs, RFIs).
• Outstanding written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail and a proven track record of effective problem solving and decision making.
• Strong persuasive and technical writing skills; ability to translate complex technical solutions into clear narratives.
• Experience working successfully with cross-functional teams.

Mansioni

• Assist with capture management for major funding opportunities (>$1M/year).
• Decipher and extract proposal requirements and develop milestones for planning and submission.
• Lead administrative development of grant applications, including budgets and biosketches.
• Coordinate with multiple departments for large-scale interdisciplinary proposals.
• Assist faculty with writing, editing and reviewing non-technical portions of the proposal.
• Work with investigators to submit complete proposals to the Office of Sponsored Programs.
• Produce resources and templates to advance research and collaboration.
• Design, develop and facilitate workshops on proposal and grant writing.
• Gather, track and analyze metrics and prepare reports.
• Support early career investigators in funding processes.
• Provide day-to-day administrative support and SOPs documentation.
