Job summary

University of Minnesota’s College of Science and Engineering Pre-Award team provides centralized support for proposal development across multiple departments. The role coordinates intake, triage, and submission management, ensuring sponsor compliance and efficient routing of proposals.

The team supports budgets, subawards, and administrative documentation through MN-GEMS and related systems, engaging with SPA and faculty to maintain continuity of service.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree AND four (4) years performing administrative, budgetary and/or grant proposal or management experience OR a combination of education and relevant experience totaling eight (8) years.
  • Higher education experience preferred.
  • Experience with budget development and with eResearch systems.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee proposal activities across assigned cohort departments, guiding PIs and staff through pre-award processes for various sponsors.
  • Prepare, review budgets, and route proposals in MN-GEMS and sponsor systems.
  • Coordinate standard subaward documentation and routing with collaborators and SPA.
  • Engage in intake triage, workflow coordination, and ensure compliance with sponsor requirements.
