Job summary

Automation Alley is seeking a Grant Program Manager to oversee federal and state-funded grant programs, manage deliverables and budgets, and coordinate partner organizations. This role is based at our Troy, Michigan headquarters with occasional travel and a potential hybrid schedule.

You will contribute to new proposals, ensure compliance with grant terms, and prepare funder reports while collaborating with universities, industry groups, and government agencies to advance automation and AI

Qualifications

• 2+ years in grant administration or program management.
• Knowledge of federal or state grant compliance and reporting.
• Experience budgeting, tracking deliverables, and preparing reports.
• Ability to manage multiple projects with external partners.
• Technical aptitude to discuss program technologies.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of federal, state, and foundation grants from award to closeout.
• Follow grant agreements, timelines, budgets; ensure compliance.
• Track budgets, invoices, and variances; audit-ready documentation.
• Prepare funder reports and keep leadership informed on progress and risks.
• Coordinate multi-organization projects; administer subawards and MOUs.
• Contribute narrative and budget detail to proposals.
• Collaborate with marketing for recruitment and funder language; work with IT on data collection.
