Job summary

RISE, a Nebraska nonprofit focused on habilitative programming in prisons and reentry support, seeks a Grant Manager to write proposals, manage grants, and ensure timely reporting. You will work with the Vice President of Development and External Relations and collaborate across staff to advance RISE’s mission.

The role emphasizes social justice, strong communication, and stakeholder engagement, with flexible hours and a vehicle requirement as needed for site visits and donor meetings.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Non-Profit Management, Social Work, Public Administration, Journalism or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of grant writing and fundraising experience.
  • 2 years of experience writing and managing federal grants, preferably in non-profit sector.
  • Proven track record of securing grants from foundations, corporations and government agencies.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to handle multiple deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Research and identify grant opportunities that align with RISE’s mission.
  • Write, edit, and submit high-quality grant proposals to foundations, corporations, government agencies, and other funders.
  • Collaborate with program staff to gather necessary information for grants.
  • Develop persuasive narratives that articulate RISE’s mission and impact.
  • Work with Finance on grant budgets for proposals and reporting.
  • Maintain a comprehensive grants calendar and lead internal grant meetings.
  • Track status of submitted grants and follow up with funders as needed.
  • Prepare timely grant reports detailing program outcomes and expenditures.
  • Build and maintain relationships with current and potential funders.
