Job summary

University of Wisconsin–Madison is seeking a Multi-functional Research Administration Manager to provide comprehensive pre- and post-award research support within the College of Computing and Artificial Intelligence (CAI).

You will manage a portfolio of sponsored projects across the grant lifecycle, collaborating with faculty and campus partners to ensure proposal development, award management, and compliance.

Qualifications

• Experience applying fiscal and administrative rules, regulations and procedures for administering sponsored projects.
• Experience with pre- and post- award research administration including grant proposal development and/or budget planning/management.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a key resource to leadership and staff in the unit and liaise with partners.
• Submit proposals, agreements, or invoices to sponsors on behalf of the PI/PD when authorized.
• Execute proposal submission, contract negotiation, and/or award setup activities for the unit.
• Ensure financial compliance, audit, or reporting for the unit.
• Implement research administration policies and procedures across financial, administrative, staffing, and compliance domains.
• Provide training to faculty, staff, and administrators on policy and execution of sponsored project administration.
• May supervise day-to-day activities of research administration staff.
• Review and approve programmatic transactions across the life-cycle of sponsored projects for compliance.
