Job summary

Science from Scientists seeks a Manager of Fundraising Development to write and manage grants, analyze fundraising metrics, and coordinate across Massachusetts, Minnesota, California and beyond. The role reports to the Chief Development Officer and partners with regional teams to grow programs that bring scientists into schools.

Required are a Bachelor's degree and 1–3 years in nonprofits with grant writing. The position offers full-time with some remote work flexibility and benefits.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 1-3 years of experience in nonprofits and grant writing.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, computer, time-management, and research skills.
  • Ability to write accurate, compelling narratives with correct grammar and spelling.
  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient knowledge of Google Suite or Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with Salesforce is a plus.
  • Background check, valid driver’s license may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Prospect for fundraising opportunities and write letters of intent, grants, proposals and impact reports cross-regionally.
  • Create analytics around grant success/failure by region using Salesforce CRM.
  • Collaborate with regional Development Directors, CDO and Executive Director to align goals with mission.
  • Research donor prospects and prepare summaries and recommendations for leadership.
  • Grow opportunities in the assigned pipeline and nurture donor relationships.
  • Draft, edit and send communications including letters of inquiry, grant proposals and impact reports.
  • Respond to donors nationwide with timely acknowledgments and tax receipts.
  • Log donor touchpoints in Salesforce and maintain proper financial documentation.
  • Prepare analytical reports on hit rates for grants and pitches by region.
  • Strategize expansion opportunities with Operations for partner school funding.
  • Highlight donors in marketing materials and emails.
  • Assist with impact reports and newsletters when needed.
  • Be a team player and support programs across regions.
