Job summary

The City of Tacoma Municipal Court seeks a Therapeutic Courts Case Manager to monitor and facilitate services for participants in the Tacoma Municipal Therapeutic Courts, providing direct support, monitoring compliance with court conditions, and coordinating care with community social service agencies.

This is a grant funded position focused on risk assessments, treatment referrals, and ongoing engagement with participants and partner agencies to promote successful outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in behavioral science, social work or a directly related field.
• Two (2) years professional social services experience; or one (1) year case management in behavioral health or criminal justice with DSM-5 resources.
• Equivalency: 1 year experience = 1 year education.

Responsibilities

• Track and guide clients through referral, entry, participation, dismissal, and graduation.
• Conduct risk-needs assessments and determine psychosocial needs with professionals.
• Coordinate referrals to treatment, housing, employment, and community resources.
• Develop and implement a case plan for each participant.
• Liaise between community agencies and the court; report progress and participate in staffing and hearings.
• Maintain up-to-date records of participants and collateral contacts.
• Prepare documents for staff meetings and court hearings.
• Present staffing recommendations to the team.
• Participate in relevant therapeutic court training and outreach.
• Provide crisis assessments, safety planning, and connect to crisis services.
• Assist in teambuilding and training new members.
