Job summary

Dickson County Schools seeks an LEAPS Teacher for LEAPS Sites to support middle school learners in a grant-funded program. This role is up to 3 hours daily for 160 days, based on grant funding, requiring collaboration with LEAPS project directors.

The ideal candidate is a current DC Schools employee with experience working with middle school students and strong classroom-management skills. This is a part-time, hourly position.

Qualifications

• Currently employed by Dickson County Schools.
• Knowledge of core subject and curriculum.
• Instruct students and manage behavior in a middle-school setting.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepares for class with appropriate materials to meet individual needs.
• Uses audiovisual aids and other materials to supplement teaching.
• Organizes lessons and maintains records as required.
• Modifies instruction for students with learning differences as needed.
• Maintains classroom environment conducive to learning.
• Enforces school rules and maintains attendance/grade records.
