Job summary

The Alzheimer's Association is seeking a Community Engagement Specialist in San Jose, CA to lead volunteer networks and partner with diverse communities. This grant-funded role emphasizes equity, education, and outreach to underrepresented groups, with a strong focus on building grassroots programs across the Bay Area.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Three years of experience in program delivery or volunteer management.
• Experience in community health and community mobilization is a plus.
• Willingness to travel and work evenings/weekends; valid driver's license and vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, coach, and manage volunteers to build grassroots movements.
• Activate and support a portfolio of volunteers in select markets.
• Cultivate and manage community partnerships with diverse groups.
• Collaborate across functions to identify awareness opportunities and expand reach.
• Evaluate volunteer performance and implement improvement plans.
• Manage budgets, grant deliverables, and timelines.
• Inspire urgency and support for the association's mission across communities.
