Job summary

Alameda County is seeking a County Grant Specialist to oversee fund development and grant management initiatives. The role focuses on planning, writing, and directing grant-related activities, with emphasis on securing federal and foundation funding to sustain programs.

The candidate will provide analytical support for strategic planning, manage grant writing processes, and coordinate with multiple departments to ensure compliant and competitive proposals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in a related field.
• Three years of full-time fund development experience with federal grants.
• Two years in other fund development activities (state/foundation grants, bonds, private fundraising).
• Two additional years of experience may substitute for the degree.

Responsibilities

• Plan, write, develop and direct fund development activities.
• Provide analytical support in strategic planning for grant programs.
• Coordinate grant management across departments and external partners.
• Prepare grant applications and proposals with budgets and supporting data.
