Job summary

Augusta University is seeking a detail‑oriented professional to provide comprehensive research administration services, including financial management, purchasing and procurement, and general administrative support.

Responsibilities include managing 65+ departmental accounts, budget development, expense tracking, monthly reporting, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, university and sponsor requirements while coordinating with Post Award, Purchasing, Financials, Asset Management and IT.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field with two years of experience in business, finance, accounting or other related field.
  • Knowledge of grant guidelines and finance systems (e.g., PeopleSoft Financials) is preferred.
  • Experience in a research department or sponsored program administration is preferred.

Responsibilities

Job Summary

Responsible for comprehensive research administration services including a variety of functions including financial management, purchasing and procurement, and general administrative services, ensuring compliance with regulatory policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

The duties include but are not limited to:

ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT: 65+ departmental accounts, including state, sponsored, and incentive funds, budget development, processes to track fiscal activity, ensuring items are allocated in accordance with budget assignments and federal, state, university, and sponsor requirements. Responsible for modifications, restrictions of spending and/or reallocation of funds. Approve expenditures, maintain, and reconcile accounts monthly. Prepare and provide monthly financial analysis of accounts and projections to support existing and planned operations and reliable reports to leadership. Allocate p-card purchases in Works.

BUDGET MANAGEMENT: Liaise with Post Award on grant expenditures. Prepare and process Budget Amendments, ATBs, and Cost Transfers as needed. Process lab orders and invoices, controlled substances and Lab Equipment Services invoices.

TEAM MEMBER: Serve as a key member of the department's research management team. Monitor compliance and audit activities. Guide staff award procurement. Liaise with Purchasing, Financials, Asset Management, and IT as needed.

OTHER: Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in business or related field with two years of experience in business, finance, accounting or other related field.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of A-21/Uniform Guidance, NIH/AHA/JDRF guidelines, AU P&Ps.Experience in a research area/department, accounting field, or sponsored program administration.PeopleSoft Financials experience.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

KNOWLEDGE

Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/database or willingness to learn.

SKILLS

Strong accounting and financial management skills.

Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.

ABILITIES

Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Ability to develop and manage budgets, analyze financial data and develop short and long range goals.

Shift/Salary/Benefits

Shift: Days; M-F (Work outside of the standard business hours may be required)

Pay Band: B9

Salary: $48,800.00/annually-$61,000.00/annually

Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
