Job Summary

A comprehensive administrative and research services to assist faculty on the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology in preparing grant application for submissions to various federal and non-federal agencies. To be liaison between faculty and AU's research institute for all grant submissions. Conducting biomedical research related to prostate, bladder, and kidney tumors and assist principal investigator in laboratory management. Expertise in preparation of biomedical grant-related budget justifications, obtaining regulatory approvals and computer programming related to grant applications and budgets. Conducting laboratory research and staff supervision including experience in small animal surgery, human subjects research biochemical, tissue culture and molecular biology techniques, maintaining of laboratory records. A strong scientific publication record which demonstrates participation in conducting collaborative and independent research projects.

The duties include, but are not limited to:

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in business or related field with 3 years of experience in business, finance, accounting or other related field.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of Uniform Guidance, , and Augusta University policies and procedures. Experience with federal and private electronic research administration systems such as ASSIST, Workspace, Research.Gov, and Proposal Central. Experience with PeopleSoft Financials to include queries and purchasing. Experience in a research area/department, accounting field, or sponsored program administration.

  • ' Strong Accounting and financial management skills with expertise In Microsoft Excel and PeopleSoft.
  • ' Knowledge of principles and practice & pertaining to developing, and administering a research grant proposal and awards in compliance with sponsor, federal, state, local, and university regulations.
  • ' Ability to develop and monitor budgets and analyze financial data.
  • ' Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • ' Ability to develop short and long range goals.

Shift/Salary/Benefits

Shift: Days; M-F (Work outside of normal business hours may be required)

Pay Band: B11

Salary: $56,600.00/annually-$65,800.00/annually

Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
