Job summary

Catholic Charities San Bernardino & Riverside Counties is seeking a Grant Development Manager to lead our grants program by identifying, cultivating, writing, submitting, and managing opportunities from foundations, corporations, government agencies, and other institutional funding partners in the Inland Empire.

The role works with executive leadership, program directors, finance, marketing, and external partners to secure funding that expands services across San Bernardino and Riverside

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field is required.
• Minimum of three years of successful grant writing experience.
• GPC or CFRE preferred but not required.
• Excellent writing, research, budgeting, and communication skills.
• Willingness to travel throughout San Bernardino and Riverside Counties.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement an annual grants strategy aligned with the organization's Strategic Plan.
• Research and identify foundation, corporate, local, state, and federal funding opportunities.
• Maintain a comprehensive grants calendar and funding pipeline.
• Monitor philanthropic trends and emerging grant opportunities.
• Prepare compelling grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and concept papers.
• Collaborate with program leadership to develop narratives, outcomes, and evaluation plans.
• Coordinate with Finance to prepare grant budgets.
• Ensure proposals meet all submission requirements and deadlines.
• Manage the grants management system.
• Track submissions, awards, reporting requirements, and compliance deadlines.
• Prepare timely narrative and financial reports.
• Maintain organized grant files and documentation.

Salary Range: $75,000 – $95,000 annually

JOB SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Vice President of Development, the Grant Development Manager is responsible for leading the organization's grant development efforts by identifying, cultivating, writing, submitting, and managing grant opportunities from foundations, corporations, government agencies, and other institutional funding partners.

The Grant Development Manager will develop and implement a comprehensive grants strategy focused on expanding sustainable revenue to support Catholic Charities San Bernardino & Riverside Counties' mission and strategic priorities. This position will work collaboratively with executive leadership, program directors, finance staff, marketing, and external partners to secure funding that expands services throughout the Inland Empire.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

To successfully fulfill this role, the individual must perform the following duties to a satisfactory standard:

Grant Strategy & Research

• Develop and implement an annual grants strategy aligned with the organization's Strategic Plan.
• Research and identify foundation, corporate, local, state, and federal funding opportunities.
• Maintain a comprehensive grants calendar and funding pipeline.
• Monitor philanthropic trends and emerging grant opportunities.
• Prepare compelling grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and concept papers.
• Collaborate with program leadership to develop narratives, outcomes, and evaluation plans.
• Coordinate with Finance to prepare grant budgets.

Funder Relations

• Build relationships with institutional funders.
• Coordinate site visits and stewardship activities.
• Represent Catholic Charities within the philanthropic community.
• Collaborate with Programs, Finance, Marketing, and Executive Leadership.
• Recommend improvements to grant systems and processes.
• Participate in strategic planning and organizational growth initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Nonprofit Management, Social Work, or a related field required.
• Minimum of three years of experience in successful grant writing with demonstrated success securing foundation, corporate, or government grants.
• GPC or CFRE preferred but not required.

Skills and Abilities

Excellent writing, research, project management, collaboration, budgeting, communication, and organizational skills with a commitment to the mission of Catholic Charities.

• Ability to travel throughout San Bernardino and Riverside Counties as needed.
• Work in diverse settings, including office environments, community events, and organizational functions.
• Occasionally lift and carry items weighing up to 30 pounds.
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required.
