Job summary

Creative Financial Staffing, LLC is seeking a Grants & Compliance Manager in Connecticut to oversee grant accounting, reporting, and compliance across affiliated entities. The role interfaces with the SVP/CFO and external grantors to ensure accuracy and regulatory adherence.

You will lead grant tracking systems, manage audits, and guide staff supporting grant functions, while maintaining strong internal controls and timely reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field required.
• Minimum 5 years of grant management, compliance, or grant accounting experience in nonprofit settings.
• Experience with federal/state grants, funder reporting, and audit support required.
• Proficiency in Excel and grant management systems is expected.

Responsibilities

• Manage grant-related financial and programmatic reporting for accuracy and timeliness.
• Review grant contracts and ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and contractual requirements.
• Coordinate grantor reports, reimbursements, and grant accounting reconciliations.
• Support month-end and year-end close processes for grant financials.
• Coordinate audit activities, including Single Audit schedules.
• Develop and maintain grant tracking systems, SOPs, and compliance training.

• Manage grant-related financial and programmatic reporting for accuracy, timeliness, and compliance

• Support month-end and year-end close processes related to grant financials
• Coordinate internal, funder, and annual financial audit activities, including Single Audit schedules
• Develop and maintain grant tracking systems, SOPs, and compliance training

Qualifications for the Grants & Compliance Manager:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field required
• Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible experience in grant management, compliance, or grant accounting, preferably in a nonprofit environment
• Experience with federal and/or state grants, funder reporting, reimbursement processes, and audit support required
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial or grant management systems
