Job summary

The University of Tennessee, Knoxville is seeking a Sponsored Projects Documentation & Compliance Coordinator to ensure transaction-level integrity for sponsored grant expenditures. You will work with central accounting, audit documentation, and PIs to enforce policies and provide required documentation to support timely reimbursements.

Qualifications

• Detail-oriented with ability to spot missing documentation or policy violations across high transaction volumes.
• Familiarity with UTK fiscal policies and federal grant guidelines.
• Ability to interpret and enforce purchasing guidelines with stakeholders.
• Experience navigating document management systems and ERP interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Review transaction reports and meticulously match ledger entries with receipts, invoices, or packing slips.
• Audit each transaction package to ensure complete backup documentation meets sponsor invoicing requirements.
• Coordinate with PIs and staff to ensure documentation before issues arise and assist with cost transfers if needed.
• Maintain audit-ready digital files of all matched transactions and support auditors as required.
