Fayette County Public Schools in Lexington, KY seeks a Manager of Grant Accounting to oversee post award grant accounting for the entire district, ensuring compliance with funding sources and timely reporting. The role drives the district’s grants administration, indirect cost negotiations, and audit readiness.

You will lead the end-to-end process for sponsored programs, coordinate with program managers, and mentor staff while implementing grant policies and maximizing restricted fund

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Four years accounting experience, preferably two in non-profit sponsored programs, school business administration or other appropriate private-sector experience.
• Certification in School Financial Management or similar certification (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Manage the coordination of the accounting functions related to all sponsored programs and other restricted accounts in Fund 2 (Special Revenue).
• Propose policies and procedures related to all restricted funds for review and implementation by Program Managers.
• Assist all Program Managers in the financial reporting and other administrative requirements of their grants/contracts, MOAs, and training.
• Monitor the status of each program through its life cycle; maintain the District’s master financial calendar.
• Oversee the end-to-end annual single audit process in accordance with OMB 2 CFR 200.
• Prepare, review, or direct all accounting entries related to sponsored programs and restricted funds.
• Prepare invoice/billings and collect funds for restricted fund expenditures.
• Prepare all applicable grants fiscal reports and ensure timely submission.
• Compute, prepare and submit the annual indirect cost rate for all district grant programs; negotiate the rate as needed.
• Attend professional development training and stay abreast of OMB Circulars applicable to grants management.
• Assist in the closing of the district’s fiscal year end books as needed.
• Maintain database and reports for the Superintendent, CFO, and Board.
• Maintain and update the Grant Accounting Handbook with current policy guidance.
• Advise stakeholders on financial administration of sponsored programs and restricted accounts.
• Provide training and workshops to grant stakeholders on managing grants efficiently and in compliance.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related field
