Job summary

The State of West Virginia, Division of Administrative Services, seeks an Accountant/Auditor 2 to support the financial administration of state and federal grants. You will review and authorize fund distributions to sub-grantees and collaborate with program specialists to resolve issues while maintaining strict confidentiality of PII.

The role requires solid knowledge of accounting/auditing principles, excellent organization, and strong communication with internal staff and agencies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with at least 24 semester hours in accounting.
• One (1) year of full-time or equivalent part-time paid professional experience in accounting, statutory accounting or auditing work.

Responsibilities

• Review, validate, and authorize fund distributions to sub-grantees on a monthly basis.
• Collaborate with criminal justice program specialists to resolve issues or deficiencies.
• Assist in onboarding and training of new accounting staff and perform related duties.
