Job summary

Coldspring is seeking a full-time, on-site material handler in Kentucky to unload shot saw cars and load automated finish lines with granite slabs. The role starts with safety-focused responsibilities and requires forklift certification, crane awareness, and inventory control.

You will move granite slabs, label and track them in the JDE system, assist in color matching, and maintain production readiness in all weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Forklift certification required or provided by employer.
• Ability to safely operate crane and judge distances around machinery.
• Knowledge of stone tolerances for safe movement.
• Ability to multitask and shift tasks to avoid production interruptions.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong problem solving and time management skills.
• Mechanical aptitude.
• Reading production tickets and measuring with tapes (imperial/metric).
• Team player adherent to safety and cross-training.

Responsibilities

• Monitor slab conditions and identify cracks/breaks for safe handling.
• Load slabs onto finish lines per job specs.
• Label slabs with job number and finish type.
• Locate slabs stored outside for production use.
• Coordinate color matching with the Stock Coordinator.
• Manage excess slab inventory.
• Inspect slabs to ensure they meet production ticket sizes.
• Operate forklift to move granite stones and slabs.
• Scan stones into the JDE system to maintain inventory records.
• Use color flagging to determine work priority.
• Apply production tickets to slabs per customer requirements.
• Drill and re-tag slab inventory when needed.
• Work indoors and outdoors.
