Job summary

Coldspring is seeking a Gang Saw Operator to load, set up, and run automated multi-wire gang saws on granite blocks. You will document cuts, manage crane-based material handling, and ensure slabs meet production tolerances.

Responsibilities include tagging and logging slabs in the JDE system, verifying thickness/flatness, and coordinating with the team to maintain efficient workflow while adhering to safety policies.

Qualifications

• Must understand stone colors, quality, and appearance criteria to meet job requirements.
• General computer skills for logging and tracking.
• Ability to shift between tasks to avoid production interruptions.
• Work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong problem solving and time management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Load, set up, operate, and unload granite blocks for cutting.
• Position blocks with crane for correct orientation and wire spacing.
• Program saws according to tolerances and ticket specs.
• Complete saw reports documenting each cut.
• Tag slabs and log them into the JDE system.
• Verify slab thickness and flatness meet specs.
• Bundle slabs and move them to storage areas with cranes.
• Cross-train as needed while following safety protocols.
