Job summary

The Equity in Effingham, IL seeks a Grain Transportation Driver to safely operate company trucks and deliver grain efficiently. You will inspect equipment, maintain records, report maintenance needs, and provide prompt customer service, supporting both customers and facility operations.

The role requires a valid CDL Class A, a strong driving record, and excellent communication. Expect work in a physically active, outdoor environment with regular travel to nearby facilities as needed.

Effingham - Grain Transportation Driver

The Grain Transportation Driver supports the movement of grain by safely operating company trucks and ensuring deliveries are completed efficiently and accurately. Working closely with the Grain team, this position performs daily equipment inspections, maintains required records, reports maintenance concerns, and provides prompt and courteous customer service. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-minded, and committed to supporting both customers and facility operations.

$17-23/hour

Key Responsibilities

• Follow all established personnel and safety policies and procedures
• Operate truck fleet as directed
• Completes all required paperwork daily
• Responsible for the daily maintenance checks of the truck (pre-trip & post-trip)
• Reports any problems with equipment under their control so maintenance activities may be performed
• Helps customers in a prompt, efficient, and courteous manner

Required Knowledge, Skills, And Leadership Characteristics

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Good driving record
• Illinois commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a Class A License
• Excellent Customer Service and communication skills
• Demonstrates the ability to interact effectively with management and customers
• Self-motivating personality as well as team-building skills

Work Environment

While performing the duties of the job, the employee works near moving, mechanical equipment and in outside weather conditions; including exposure to fumes and airborne particles, grain dust and vibrations. Occasionally climbs and works in high places and exposed weather elements. Noise level in work environment is usually loud.
