Tucker J McPherson in Ayr, ND is seeking a full-time grain handler to manage storage, handling, and shipping processes. You will document tickets, inspect moisture and quality, and ensure proper grain distribution using conveyors while maintaining safety. The job requires 3+ months of related experience, a driver’s license or ability to obtain one within 30 days, and basic English literacy.

Work includes 40 hours per week, with a schedule from 8:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M.

Responsibilities

• Safely handle grain through all storage and shipment stages.
• Prepare and document scale tickets; inspect loads for moisture and grade quality.
• Transfer grain to storage bins using conveyors; ensure even distribution.
• Ship grain by moving it from storage to truck loading bins and coordinate loading.
• Perform manual shoveling where conveyors cannot remove grain; assist during bin clean-outs.
• Maintain clean, safe storage areas and facilities; follow safety standards.
• Perform routine maintenance on grain handling equipment and minor repairs.
• Inspect elevated equipment by safely climbing grain legs when needed.

Job Duties

Job requires the safe and efficient handling of grain throughout all stages of storage and shipment. Duties include accurately preparing and documenting scale tickets and inspecting incoming loads to ensure compliance with established moisture content and grade quality standards. Once accepted, grain must be transferred to the appropriate storage bins using grain conveying systems while maintaining even distribution and minimizing waste. The operator is also responsible for shipping grain as required, which involves moving grain from storage bins to truck loading bins and coordinating the loading process for outbound transportation. Manual shoveling of grain is required in areas where automatic conveyor equipment cannot fully remove grain, especially during bin clean-outs or maintenance operations. Regular housekeeping duties must be performed to ensure that grain storage areas, loading zones, and surrounding facilities remain clean, safe, and compliant with operational and safety standards. Additional responsibilities include performing routine maintenance on grain handling equipment, conducting minor mechanical repairs when necessary, and ensuring that all machinery is in safe working condition. This position also requires the ability to safely climb vertical grain legs and access elevated equipment or storage areas to inspect or maintain facility operations.
