Job summary

The Mennel Milling Company is seeking a Grain Grader in Mexico, IN to operate the Wheat Quality testing facility, receive inbound trucks, and grade grain per USDA GIPSA-FGIS standards. You will record test results and support food safety programs while upholding Mennel’s tradition of excellence.

This Full Time Regular role requires shift work, safety compliance, and the ability to work with grain trucks and equipment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Basic understanding of hand tools and the ability to manipulate them to complete essential duties.
• Knowledge of and ability to operate Microsoft Office software, Internet and other computer software to complete essential duties and responsibilities.
• Ability to maintain open communication with both internal and external customers.
• Ability to effectively prioritize and organize tasks and follow through to ensure completion of assignments in an efficient and high-quality manner.
• Must be able to obtain an Ohio Agricultural Commodity Tester License.

Responsibilities

• Follow all food and personal safety rules and regulations in respect to GMP's, OSHA, HACCP, the Global Food Safety Initiative, the US FDA Food Safety Modernization Act as stated in the FS&Q Statement, and sanitation guidelines as set forth by the company as listed in Corporate Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) and attend all required training sessions.
• Provides courteous, timely and professional customer service.
• Responds to customer requests and resolves complaints.
• Operates grain grading and testing equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
• Weighs, samples and inspects grain -following established standards.
• Works safely with and around grain trucks, semi-tractor trailers, and other grain hauling vehicles.
• Performs tasks to properly maintain the sanitation requirements of the grading room and assigned areas in the mill.
• Performs routine and emergency maintenance to equipment.
• Assist Lead QA Tech when needed for testing flour and millfeed.
• Performs the essential duties of the Office Manager and Elevator Operator in their absence.
