Kalmbach Feeds is seeking a Grain Procurement professional to purchase grain from area farmers for manufacturing feed. The role requires frequent communication with farm customers to discuss market factors, opportunities, and contracting strategies.

The candidate should be experienced in grain and related markets, with strong written and verbal communication skills and a meticulous approach to tracking contracts and inventories.

Qualifications

• Experienced in and understands grain markets and other related markets.
• Team oriented to support purchasing and nutrition in the sourcing of new product suppliers and origins.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Detail oriented with a high sense of urgency to manage inventories to avoid outages.

Responsibilities

• Purchase grain from area farmers to be used in manufacturing feed.
• Discuss market factors and opportunities with farm customers primarily over the phone.
• Develop, manage, and sell various contracting strategies.
• Maintain supplier relationships and respond to customers’ needs.
• Track contracts and positions with attention to detail.
