The Andersons, Inc. is seeking a Grain Operations Worker to support daily grain operations at our large agricultural facility. Responsibilities include receiving, inspecting, loading and maintaining grain movement with a focus on safety and efficiency.

Experience in farm, construction, or general labor backgrounds is valued, with a strong safety mindset and ability to adapt to peak harvest periods. This role requires teamwork and reliability in varying conditions.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience required.
  • Ability to operate mobile equipment and/or a valid driver’s license preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform inspection and receiving activities such as probing trucks, weighing trucks, and gathering product samples
  • Monitor grain handling and receiving equipment and processes; identify potential issues and take appropriate action such as resolving minor issues, performing minor maintenance, or escalating issue for resolution as necessary
  • Assist with loading grains on rail cars, trucks, vessels (where applicable)
  • Operate various types of mobile equipment
  • Perform general housekeeping activities such as bin clean out

The Grain Operations Worker role supports daily grain operations through hands‑on involvement in receiving, inspection, storage, and loading of corn and wheat across a large agricultural facility. This position includes unloading trucks, operating rail and locomotive equipment, running PLC systems for rail shed operations, and supporting extended unloading and loading activities during harvest seasons. Employees work across multiple areas of the site and are responsible for ongoing facility housekeeping and upkeep, including cleaning bins, pits, and equipment to maintain safe and efficient operations. A strong safety mindset is essential, as this role requires attention to detail, following procedures, and working proactively to support safe grain movement. This position is well suited for motivated individuals with a farm, construction, or general labor background who are willing to learn, work as part of a team, and flex their schedule during peak harvest periods.

Education & Experience

High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred 1-2 years’ relevant experience required Ability to operate mobile equipment and/or a valid driver’s license preferred

Physical Requirements and Working Environment

Must be able to stand for an extended period of time Ability to frequently lift/push/pull up to 75 pounds Must be able to climb/stoop/kneel at heights up to 180 feet Works indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions and temperatures Working conditions could include dust, fumes, moderate noise and uneven surfaces
