Job summary

New Century FS, Inc in Yankton, SD is seeking a Grain Merchandiser to lead the grain merchandising program, develop bids, and manage hedging contracts to optimize margins and inventory levels. The role requires strong negotiation, project management, and market analysis skills.

The candidate should have a college degree in Ag Economics/Marketing or related field and 3+ years in agricultural marketing, with willingness to travel and work extended hours as needed.

Qualifications

• College degree in a relevant area; 3+ years in agricultural marketing preferred.
• Experience leading grain merchandising programs, pricing and risk management.
• Ability to develop and implement marketing plans and bid strategies.

Responsibilities

• Develops and implements grain merchandising programs including sales and hedging contracts, margins, bids, and open grain positions.
• Establishes and communicates storage and drying rates and basic contracts.
• Determines daily bids, selects best bids and monitors competitive bids.
• Assists with the development and implementation of grain origination marketing plans.
• Communicates with elevator managers to ensure inventory goals are met.
