Job summary

HEARTLAND CO-OP in Amarillo, TX seeks a detail-oriented logistics coordinator to manage grain freight movements and scheduling. You will coordinate truck and rail movements, communicate with carriers and customers, and maintain accurate shipment records using grain software and spreadsheets.

The role supports merchandising activities, verifies rates, and helps ensure timely, accurate shipments in line with company requirements.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent related experience preferred; six months to two years in logistics/transportation/agriculture/customer service or admin work.
• Ability to read shipment documents, schedules and company policies; communicate effectively with managers, carriers and location staff.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred but not required; strong math and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with spreadsheets, email and grain software systems.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates truck, rail, and other grain freight movements as directed by merchandising.
• Communicate daily with carriers, drivers, locations, and customers regarding pickup, delivery, and loading schedules.
• Maintains trucking schedules and adjusts to meet needs.
• Supports logistics needs related to grain purchases, sales, and transfers.
• Verifies freight rates, carrier information and shipment details; assists with documentation.
• Keeps accurate records in spreadsheets and grain software systems.
