Job summary

Heartland Co-op in Malvern, IA is seeking a skilled Warehouse/Grain Handler to receive, load, unload, and transport commodities including grain, fertilizer, chemicals, seed, feed, and petroleum products. You will also perform routine facility maintenance and maintain accurate records.

This role requires physical stamina, ability to operate loaders and conveyors, and a valid driver's license with CDL not required; familiarity with inventory control and safety procedures is essential.

Qualifications

• Education/Experience: High school diploma or GED; or 1–3 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination.
• Ability to read and write simple instructions, memos and short correspondence.
• Must maintain a valid driver’s license and commercial insurability at all times.
• Knowledge of grain handling, inventory control and safety procedures preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive and properly store commodities and products into the facility.
• Load customer and Heartland Co-op trucks/trailers with products using loaders, forklifts or by hand.
• Assist with scale operation and inventory records; perform routine maintenance and housekeeping.
• Prepare trailers and barges for loading/unloading; monitor temperature cables and bunker storage as applicable.
• Maintain detailed dock logs and support location-specific duties to ensure quality and safety.
