Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related field preferred, or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • 4+ years of experience with industrial equipment, manufacturing, mechanical systems, testing, or maintenance.
  • Experience assembling, installing, repairing, or troubleshooting machinery.
  • Experience with equipment rigging and installation.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate laboratory testing with Sales, Engineering, and Manufacturing.
  • Assemble, install, operate, and troubleshoot laboratory and processing equipment.
  • Prepare machines for testing, including component changes and drive package installation.
  • Conduct full-scale and small-scale equipment testing and accurately record results.
  • Prepare test reports and present findings to Engineering, Sales, and Management.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment, conveying systems, spouting, and auxiliary equipment.
  • Repair and rebuild equipment as needed.
  • Support Engineering with new equipment designs, prototypes, testing, and test-to-failure studies.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory.
  • Manage lab supplies, equipment, scheduling, and general operating costs.
  • Assist Sales with customer applications and technical support.
  • Support parts sales, including researching, quoting, and entering orders.
  • Travel occasionally for customer equipment startup and application support after training.

Lab Manager – Industrial Processing Equipment

Position Overview

We are seeking a hands-on, technically skilled Lab Managerto manage our grain and process equipment laboratory. This position supports Sales, Engineering, and Manufacturing through equipment testing, installation, troubleshooting, product development, and customer application support.

The ideal candidate enjoys working with machinery, solving problems, and working in a hands-on industrial environment.

  • Ability to operate or learn to operate forklifts and overhead hoists.
  • Basic understanding of motors, electrical systems, VFDs, and conveying equipment preferred.
  • Strong computer, organizational, and communication skills.
  • ERP experience preferred.
  • Grain processing or agricultural equipment experience is highly desirable.
Physical Requirements

This is a hands-on industrial positionrequiring equipment assembly, lifting, climbing, use of forklifts and overhead hoists, and working around operating machinery. Occasional customer travel is required.

Ideal Candidate

Experience with grain processing, agricultural equipment, industrial machinery, or capital equipment is a strong plus.
