Position Overview

REPORTS TO: Regional Grain Improvement Manager
STATUS: Non-Exempt

This role involves receiving and loading grain safely and profitably under the supervision of the Regional Grain Improvement Manager. The duties focus on maximizing operational efficiency and company profitability.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Assist in unloading, loading, and transferring grain, including truck and rail operations.
  2. Operate conveyance equipment used in shipping, receiving, and transferring grain, ensuring safety systems are followed.
  3. Maintain positive customer relations at the first point of contact with producers.
  4. Present a professional image through actions and appearance.
  5. Understand grain quality and conditioning processes.
  6. Apply best management practices for inventory control.
  7. Use materials and machinery safely and efficiently.
  8. Maintain equipment, facilities, and assets in a safe, neat, and professional manner.
  9. Perform grain grading and blending accurately.
  10. Maintain records and reports to comply with government regulations.
  11. Assist in operational expense management.
  12. Support other locations and departments as needed.
  13. Inspect handling equipment and grain inventory, including working at heights using ladders.
Additional Job Functions
  • Answer phones and greet walk-in customers.
  • Follow company policies including Code of Conduct, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA, and DOT regulations.
  • Possess at least two years of related work experience.

Core competencies include business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision-making, and skill development.

Other Requirements
  • Flexibility to work hours outside normal schedules as needed.
  • Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Willingness to participate in required training on company policies and position-specific skills.
