REPORTS TO: Regional Grain Improvement Manager STATUS: Non-Exempt

This position, under the direction of the Regional Grain Improvement Manager, is responsible for receiving and loading grain safely and profitably. Duties include maximizing operational efficiency and profitability at the location.

  1. Assist in all areas of unloading, loading, and transferring grain, including truck and rail operations.
  2. Operate conveyance equipment used in shipping, receiving, and transferring grain, ensuring safety systems are followed.
  3. Maintain positive customer relations at the first point of contact with producers.
  4. Project a favorable image of the company through personal appearance and actions.
  5. Understand grain quality and conditioning.
  6. Use best management practices for inventory control.
  7. Ensure safe and efficient use of materials and machinery.
  8. Maintain equipment, facilities, and assets safely and professionally.
  9. Perform grain grading and blending accurately.
  10. Maintain records and reports to comply with government requirements.
  11. Assist the Location Manager in controlling operational expenses.
  12. Support other locations and departments as needed.
  13. Inspect handling equipment and grain inventory at various heights using ladders.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Answer phones and greet walk-in customers.
  • Follow GROWMARK’s Code of Conduct, Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety policies, OSHA, and DOT procedures.
  • Have at least two (2) years of related work experience.

Demonstrate core competencies including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision-making, and skill development.

Other Requirements

  • Work hours may vary outside normal times to meet deadlines and demands.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Participate in required training on policies, procedures, and position-specific requirements.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Lifting/Carrying and Pushing/Pulling are frequent for weights under 50 lbs., occasional for 51-100 lbs., and not applicable over 100 lbs.

Twisting/Turning and Driving involve frequent bending, climbing, crawling, kneeling, reaching, exposure to elements, and working at heights.

Other physical activities such as handling, repetitive motions, and working on various surfaces are also required frequently.
