Job summary

Western Grain Marketing LLC is seeking a reliable Scale Operator to weigh and grade inbound and outbound grain, issue scale tickets, and provide excellent customer service. You will interact with trucks, perform grading tests, and maintain accurate documentation.

The role reports to the Grain Quality Control Manager and requires adherence to safety and quality standards, with the ability to work extended hours as needed in a busy grain elevator environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Strong math and measurement skills for weighing and grading.
• Effective communication with customers and team members.
• Ability to operate grain elevator scale and related software.

Responsibilities

• Identify inbound trucks and weigh them; record information and samples as needed.
• Perform tests for grading specific grains; record grades and weights.
• Direct trucks to correct locations and weigh out; ensure accuracy of scale tickets.
• Maintain customer relationships and provide high level of service.
• Complete documentation accurately and timely; work with management on issues.
