Job summary

Landus in Manilla, IA seeks a motivated individual to join our outside agronomy and grain operations team. You’ll engage with customers, support elevator and grain handling tasks, and contribute to safe, efficient operations.

The role involves loading and unloading grain, measuring inventory, assisting with fertilizer and chemical operations, and maintaining equipment and records. A current CDL is a plus; we value reliability and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Must be able to move/lift up to 50 pounds; occasionally up to 100 pounds.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Understand the seasonality of an agricultural cooperative and the in-season time commitment.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers promptly and courteously.
• Maintain and increase agronomy and feed sales, grain origination and marketing with existing customers and grow business with new customers.
• Assist in elevator operations, including receiving and unloading grain.
• Operate grain drying and measure grain inventory weekly/monthly.
• Load grain trains, perform cleaning and sealing of cars.
• Keep facility clean and maintain housekeeping records.
• Maintain grain condition by testing temperatures and blending.
• Assist fertilizer and chemical operations as applicable.
• Measure inventory and report to supervisor.
• Assist in unloading bulk and packaged product.
• Provide customer service and load chemical orders.
• Maintain and repair equipment as needed.
• Pump bulk chemicals into customer tanks.
• Tender to applicators and fill NH3 nurse tanks during season.
• Understand basic agronomy chemistry of all products.
