Job summary

River Valley Cooperative in Low Moor, IA is seeking a General Laborer to assist with grain handling, agronomy operations, and general maintenance. This is a hands-on role that requires physical strength and the ability to work in various weather conditions.

Responsibilities include loading/unloading, operating grain elevators, and maintaining grain storage facilities, as well as supporting fertilizer applications, crop scouting, and equipment maintenance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in agriculture or a related field preferred.
• Basic computer skills.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Assist with grain handling operations, including loading and unloading trucks, operating grain elevators, and maintaining grain storage facilities.
• Support agronomy operations by assisting with fertilizer and chemical applications, crop scouting, and equipment maintenance.
• Perform general maintenance tasks, such as repairing equipment, cleaning work areas, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
• Operate machinery and equipment, such as tractors, forklifts, and other farm implements, following proper procedures and safety guidelines.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient and timely completion of tasks.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, inventory levels, and equipment maintenance.
• Attend cooperative meetings and work to improve personal skills and knowledge.
