Job summary

River Valley Cooperative is seeking a General Laborer in Eldridge, IA to assist with grain handling, agronomy operations, and maintenance. The role requires physical stamina and comfort working outdoors in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities include loading/unloading trucks, operating grain elevators, fertilizer and chemical applications, and equipment maintenance. The position emphasizes safety, record-keeping, and teamwork to support daily cooperative goals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in agriculture or a related field preferred.
• Basic computer skills.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Assist with grain handling operations, including loading and unloading trucks, operating grain elevators, and maintaining grain storage facilities.
• Support agronomy operations by assisting with fertilizer and chemical applications, crop scouting, and equipment maintenance.
• Perform general maintenance tasks, such as repairing equipment, cleaning work areas, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
• Operate machinery and equipment, such as tractors, forklifts, and other farm implements, following proper procedures and safety guidelines.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient and timely completion of tasks.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, inventory levels, and equipment maintenance.
• Attend cooperative meetings and work to improve personal skills and knowledge.
