Job summary

Heartland Co‑op is seeking a customer‑facing clerk to handle payments, bill products, and assist in inventory and records management at the Gilman location. You will support the location manager and interact with customers across multiple channels, contributing to efficient daily operations.

The role requires basic math, cash handling, and clear communication. A valid driver's license and CDL may be required by location, with potential for varied duties.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–3 months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and memos; basic math to handle payments.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service via email, face-to-face interaction, telephone, and live chat.
• Bill products, receive payments, run scale, and track inventory.
• Assist in resolving customer concerns, complaints and issues.
• Assist location manager with maintaining grain, petroleum, feed and/or agronomy records.
• Accept and record prepayment and bookings for products; price and process payments for commodities delivered by customers.
• Remove cash and reconcile cash in the register at end of day and prepare deposits.
