Chester High School in Chester, South Carolina seeks a part-time Graduation Coach to monitor student progress, attendance, and graduation status for 9th–12th graders. You will identify at-risk students, deliver targeted interventions, and coordinate seat time recovery opportunities in collaboration with school staff and families.

The role reports to the Principal and emphasizes data-driven planning to keep students on track for on-time graduation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.

  • Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.

Graduation Coach

Location: Chester High School

Work Schedule: 25 hours per week

Reports To: Principal

The Graduation Coach will monitor and support the academic progress, attendance, and graduation status of 9 th - 12 th grade students. The Graduation Coach will use student data to identify students who are at risk of falling behind, provide targeted interventions, coordinate seat time recovery opportunities, and work collaboratively with students, families, teachers, counselors, and administrators to ensure students remain on track for on-time graduation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitor data related to grades, attendance, course completion, and credit attainment.
  • Identify students who are at risk of falling behind or not progressing toward on-time graduation.
  • Provide targeted interventions and individualized support to students based on identified needs.
  • Develop and monitor student action plans designed to improve academic performance, attendance, and credit attainment.
  • Oversee and coordinate seat time recovery opportunities for eligible students.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of student interventions, progress, and outcomes.
  • Communicate regularly with students and families regarding academic progress, attendance, and graduation requirements.
  • Collaborate with teachers, school counselors, administrators, and other school personnel to coordinate appropriate supports and interventions.
  • Monitor student progress following interventions and make adjustments as needed.
  • Assist students in understanding graduation requirements, course completion, and the importance of staying on track.
  • Participate in student support meetings and collaborate with appropriate staff to address barriers to student success.
  • Use data to identify trends and recommend strategies to improve student achievement, attendance, and graduation outcomes.
  • Maintain confidentiality of student information in accordance with district policies and applicable laws.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the principal

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Experience working with high school students and/or in an educational setting preferred.
  • Strong understanding of student academic progress, attendance, and graduation requirements.
  • Ability to analyze student data and use information to develop appropriate interventions.
  • Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to establish positive relationships with students, families, and school staff.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with school and district personnel.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of high school graduation requirements and factors that impact student success.
  • Ability to monitor and interpret student data.
  • Ability to identify barriers to academic progress and develop appropriate interventions.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, families, and staff.Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Commitment to supporting students in achieving on-time graduation.
