Montclair State University seeks a Graduate Writing Support Specialist to assist graduate students with scholarly writing, thesis and dissertation development, and professional writing for careers.

Responsibilities include individualized coaching, workshops, and building writing resources, guiding students through deadlines and institutional formatting policies, and promoting responsible AI use in academic writing.

Competenze

• Master's degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in a writing-intensive discipline.
• A minimum of three years of experience supporting academic or scholarly writing.
• Experience working with graduate students or advanced academic writers.
• Strong understanding of scholarly writing conventions and thesis/dissertation processes.
• Guidance on the responsible use of AI in scholarly and professional writing.

Mansioni

• Provide individualized writing support and coaching to graduate students at all stages of their programs.
• Develop and deliver workshops and programming to strengthen writing skills.
• Maintain and enhance writing resources and templates for dissertations and theses.
• Oversee milestone tracking and guidance on formatting requirements for theses/dissertations.
• Collaborate with campus partners on writing events and initiatives.
• Record and report usage of writing support services.
