Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is seeking a Graduate UI Developer to craft compelling and responsive user interfaces across multiple platforms, joining a passionate team in a hybrid studio setup in the UK. The role emphasizes learning new UI technologies and transforming designs into working UI components.

You'll collaborate with UI Designers and Gameplay programmers, write well-structured code, optimize performance, and contribute to prototypes and fully featured UI screens.

Qualifications

  • Familiar with one or more high-level languages (C#, Lua, JavaScript, TypeScript, AS3 or Java).
  • Experience with debugging tools and diagnosing bugs.
  • Awareness of real-time UI performance constraints and some profiling/optimizing experience.
  • Ability to integrate assets from designers into UI.
  • Excellent attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Learn about and help to develop quality UI code across various projects and platforms.
  • Contribute to, learn about and improve our codebase and tools to create UI features.
  • Collaborate with UI Designers, Gameplay programmers and other UI developers to build prototypes and fully featured UI screens and components.
  • Work closely with the team to understand problems and collaboratively develop smart solutions.
  • Create optimised and performant well readable code.
  • Learn how to understand and translate UI designs creatively into workable UI solutions.

This role is offered on a full in-studio basis or a hybrid basis (minimum 3 days per week in the studio). WHAT’S THE ROLE?

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

  • Awarenessof the performance constraints real-time applications have and has at least some experience profiling and optimizing their code.
  • Comfortable weaving assetsprovidedby Designers and Artists into new or existingUI’s.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
BONUS IF YOU HAVE
  • Knowledge of motion design.
  • Familiarity with TypeScript.
