Job summary

ByteDance seeks a New Grad engineer to join the Traffic Infrastructure team. You will mentor under experienced engineers and work on real production systems serving global edge traffic at scale. You will learn cloud-native tech, distributed systems, and networking from day one.

Successful candidates must commit to onboarding by year-end and contribute to design, development, and operation of edge infrastructure components with a focus on performance, reliability, and security.

Qualifications

• Pursuing or recently completed BS/MS in CS/CE or related field, graduating within the past year or by start date.
• Solid foundation in data structures, algorithms, operating systems, networking.
• Programming experience in Go, C or Rust demonstrated via coursework or projects.
• Familiarity with Linux and containers, distributed systems, or networking concepts.
• Strong problem solving, growth mindset, ownership, and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to design, development, and operation of infrastructure components for global edge PoPs (Kubernetes/control plane, virtualization/containers, Ingress/Gateway).
• Participate in end-to-end delivery of cloud-native features from requirements to production rollout.
• Help build observability and tooling for metrics/logs/tracing/profiling and automate incident response.
• Collaborate with SRE, platform, and product teams to own standardized, reusable platform capabilities for traffic-intensive services.
