Job summary

Cal Poly Pomona Enterprises seeks Part-Time Graduate Research Student Assistants for the CREST-RASM center to engage in cutting-edge research in smart manufacturing, AI, robotics, and related disciplines at CPP. The role offers collaboration with CPP faculty and exposure to grant proposals, publications, and inter-institutional teamwork.

Selected students may pursue the CREST-PhD Pathway Program with University of California, Riverside, with potential funding for MS tuition and future PhD

Qualifications

• US citizenship is required.
• Currently enrolled (or admitted) in a CPP Master's program in Engineering, Computer Science, or other closely related STEM discipline.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with diverse stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team with strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to quickly read, understand, and synthesize theoretical conference and journal papers.

Responsibilities

• Dedicate 10–20 hours per week during academic semesters and summer for research.
• Conduct high-quality graduate-level research in areas such as computer vision, robotics, AI, smart manufacturing, or cyber-physical systems.
• Work under CPP faculty Principal Investigators.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams of graduate students, undergraduates, and faculty across institutions.
• Engage in grant proposal support and conference presentations.
• Prepare and present research findings in group meetings, seminars, and publications.
• Support recruitment and mentoring of undergraduate students participating in CREST-RASM.
• Collaborate and create synergy with Other Subprojects.
