Job summary

The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley in Edinburg, TX invites applications for the Puentes: A Cultural Wealth for Student Success Graduate Assistant position. The role supports research on culturally sustaining pedagogy and student services, coordinating student partners, and survey evaluation.

Preferred candidates are fluent in Spanish with community outreach experience. The appointment is nine months with a stipend and partial FTE, under the Division Provost - Academic Affairs.

Qualifications

• Must be admitted to a graduate degree program.
• Must be in good academic standing.
• Be registered full-time for the semester (9 credits fall/spring; 3 credits summer or as required by degree plan).

Responsibilities

• Conducting research and analyzing data on culturally sustaining pedagogy and student services.
• Coordinating meetings with and mentoring student partners through SaLT HSI.
• Developing short surveys and evaluating responses to surveys and interviews.
• Collaborating with supervisor to coordinate with chairs and student partners across four collaboratives on program progress.
• Performing general office duties (phones, calendar invites, Zoom/Teams invites, emails).
