We prepare compassionate, skilled, and highly qualified nurses who are ready to meet the evolving health care needs of diverse populations. Our comprehensive programs include Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), RN to BSN, Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), and Ph.D. in Nursing, offering pathways for students at every stage of their nursing career.

Graduate research assistants (GRAs) are students who, in the course of their academic training, are employed in part-time research positions, where the student’s academic training is based in part on the research performed or where the research duties being performed will assist the student in fulfilling his or her degree requirements. All duties and services of GRAs are to be carried out under the supervision and direction of faculty or administration. The GRA is an aid to a researcher in terms of investigations, exploration, and inquiries regarding a particular subject matter. In the performance of their duties, they must abide by and adhere to the graduation and instruction criteria and policies established by the College of Nursing.

  • Contribute under supervision to a program of departmental or interdepartmental research.
  • Engage in research as assistants to members of the faculty or administration of the university. Appointment to one of these positions is usually made only in the student’s own department or in another unit of the university where the research to be undertaken is related to the student’s field of study. Appropriate service for an advanced research assistant may include carrying out independent research under the guidance of a faculty member.
  • Collate information and analyze data. The assistant may enter data.
  • Lead a group of less experienced research personnel.
  • Prepare materials needed for research seminars and conferences.
  • Utilize a certain systematic method in documenting information for publication releases.
  • Conduct literature reviews for faculty.
