Job summary

Oregon State University invites applications for a part-time teaching assistant in the Department of Biochemistry & Biophysics. The TA supports lectures, labs, and recitations, schedules contact hours, and assists with grading and proctoring during the term. This position is limited to a maximum 24 hours per week and is ideal for graduate or advanced undergraduate students seeking hands-on teaching experience.

Anticipated start date is 2026-10-12. Anticipated end date to be determined.

Qualifications

• Must be academically enrolled in a higher education program
• Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment
• Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard: High School student Regularly enrolled in high school; Undergraduate 6 credit hours/term; Undergraduate international student 12 credit hours/term; Graduate student 5 credit hours/term; Graduate international student 9 credit hours/term.

• Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment
• Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard

  • Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term
  • Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term*
  • Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term
  • Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term*

*International students may be allowed to carry fewer hours than specified above and still be considered “full-time” by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). A reduced course load is approved by Office of International Services(OIS), and must be provided to the Student Employment Center.
