Job summary

Oregon State University invites applications for a part-time teaching assistant in the Department of Biochemistry & Biophysics. The TA supports lectures, labs, and recitations, schedules contact hours, and assists with grading and proctoring during the term. This position is limited to a maximum 24 hours per week and is ideal for graduate or advanced undergraduate students seeking hands-on teaching experience.

Anticipated start date is 2026-10-12. Anticipated end date to be determined.

Qualifications

Must be academically enrolled in a higher education program
Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment
Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard: High School student Regularly enrolled in high school; Undergraduate 6 credit hours/term; Undergraduate international student 12 credit hours/term; Graduate student 5 credit hours/term; Graduate international student 9 credit hours/term.

Responsibilities

General course preparation, including lectures, labs, and recitations.
Schedule contact hours in recitations, labs, etc.
Other contact hours such as attending lectures, office hours, review sessions, etc.
Grading of homework assignments, lab reports, exams, etc.
Other duties such as proctoring, TA meetings, set-up and take-down before and after the term, etc.
