Job summary

The role supports the Mission of WVSOM, including developing additional graduate programs. A doctorate is required, with extensive teaching and leadership experience in higher education and medical education.

Qualifications

• Doctorate in a biomedical field (PhD) such as biochemistry, anatomy, pharmacology, physiology, pathology, molecular biology, or cell biology.
• At least 10 years of teaching experience, including 5 years teaching medical students.
• At least 3 years of experience as a course director.
• At least 3 years of progressively responsible academic leadership or administrative experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and supervision for graduate program faculty and staff.
• Lead accreditation activities, assessment reporting, and continuous quality improvement.
• Lead strategic planning for graduate education with measurable goals.
• Represent Graduate Programs with internal and external partners and stakeholders.
• Develop and manage graduate program budgets and resources.
