Job summary

University of Texas at Austin is seeking a Graduate Assistant for UT Outpost in the Office of the Dean of Students. The role manages daily operations of the food pantry and career closet, supports outreach, and coordinates with satellite pantries and student volunteers.

Flexible hours within 8:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m., Monday–Friday, with some evenings or weekends. Responsibilities include donations, reporting, leadership supervision, and collaboration with communications for marketing materials.

Qualifications

• Graduate student status preferred.
• Experience partnering with student organizations.
• Strong organizational, administrative, listening and problem-solving skills.
• Proven leadership skills.
• Public speaking experience.
• Ability to maintain privacy and confidentiality of student records.
• Excellent oral and written communication and ability to work independently.
• Willing to acquire a Texas driver’s license (preferred).
• Authorized to work in the United States; DACA eligible.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of UT Outpost food pantry and career closet to support students facing food insecurity and financial hardship.
• Facilitate donation drives with student organizations and campus partners to sustain resources.
• Co-supervise Student Leadership Board and manage schedules, trainings and development activities.
• Serve as liaison with UT Outpost Satellites; ensure stocking and reporting of information.
• Drive University vehicles for deliveries and pickups.
• Prepare monthly shopping reports and identify trends and concerns.
• Conduct data-informed outreach to students of concern and connect with resources.
• Recruit, train, and manage student volunteers for daily operations.
• Help with educational programs, events, and tours to inform the campus community.
• Collaborate with DOS Communications on website updates and marketing materials.
• Assist with training and assessment addressing food insecurity.
