Job summary

The University of Saint Mary in Leavenworth, Kansas, seeks a dedicated admissions coordinator to assist graduate Nursing students through the admissions and enrollment processes. You will support the Graduate Program Director and Graduate Clinical Site Coordinator.

You will coordinate with Marketing, Admissions, and Nursing faculty to review applications, schedule meetings, and guide students from inquiry to enrollment while maintaining accurate files and timely communications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office Suite and database experience.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Position Summary

This position is responsible for assisting graduate Nursing students throughout the admissions and enrollment processes. The position supports the Graduate Program Director and Graduate Clinical Site Coordinator.

Essential Functions

Marketing and Admissions

• Coordinate with the Marketing and Admissions to effectively navigate prospective and current graduate nursing students through the admissions, enrollment, and financial processes.
• Coordinate between Marketing and Admissions, Nursing Division, and other university departments to maintain effective communication regarding student applications and admissions processes and ensure student applications and files are accurate and complete.
• Assist in reviewing and following up on student applications.
• Meet with prospective students to discuss program pre-requisites and requirements.
• Coordinate and attend student recruiting events and site visits in collaboration with Marketing and Admissions.

Nursing Division Administrative and Student Support

• Assist Graduate Nursing Program Director and Nursing Division Chair with course forecasting and program completion plans, including student enrollment in classes.
• Advise students on course progression in collaboration with Advisors, NP Leads, and Program Director; enroll students in coursework.
• Serve as a point of contact for students who have questions regarding program completion plans and scheduling; involve Advisors, NP Leads, and Program Director when appropriate.
• Support Graduate Clinical Placements Coordinator by evaluating and tracking student readiness for clinical placements, including school and site requirements (i.e. immunization, CPR, background checks, UDS, etc.), includes notifying students who are not in compliance with necessary requirements
• Attend graduate program meetings and takes meeting minutes.
• Work with Division of Nursing faculty and staff on division initiatives (i.e. student retention, graduation ceremonies, special events, etc.).
• Attend University, Division, and program meetings.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
