Elliot Health System's Cardiac Intermediate Care Unit (CICU) is hiring a Graduate Nurse for the January 2027 cohort to provide high-quality care in a 47-bed unit with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio. The role supports patients with cardiac telemetry, post-catheter care, pacer/ICD, stroke, sepsis, and GI bleed, under RN supervision.

The position emphasizes collaboration, accountability, and ongoing professional growth, with a focus on evidence-based practice and standards of nursing care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Nurses are expected to pursue professional certification upon eligibility or within three years of entering the specialty practice.
• Graduate Nurse status is designated for those with temporary licensure to practice under supervision until permanent license is issued by NH Board of Nursing.
• Current New Hampshire RN licensure or multi-state licensure.
• Ability to obtain BLS qualification during orientation and maintain during employment; ACLS preferred.

We have 149 employees on the unit, and we specialize in cardiac/telemetry, S/P catheter, pacer, ICD, stroke & seizure, GI bleed, sepsis, and med/surg overflow. The CICU has Nurse to patient ratios of 1:4 and LNA to patient ratios of 1:10 depending on the census.About the Job:The CICU Graduate Nurse, under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, delivers care to patients and families with needs ranging from basic to complex utilizing the nursing process. Creates a therapeutic and caring environment for patient and families. If the temporary license becomes inactive, due to failure of the NCLEX examination, the employee will no longer be eligible to remain in the Graduate Nurse position.Current New Hampshire, compact, or multistate licensure as Registered Nurse required.Ability to obtain BLS qualification during orientation period and maintain during employment.
